Goose (WHOOP companion)

A local-first iOS app that talks straight to a WHOOP 5.0 band — routing packet data through a Rust core into recovery, sleep, strain, and stress views. Early alpha, and honest about it.

One for the quantified-self tinkerers who’d rather own their health data than lease it back from a subscription. Goose connects an iOS app directly to a WHOOP 5.0 band over Bluetooth, pipes the raw packets through a shared Rust core, and renders daily recovery, sleep, strain, stress, cardio, and coaching views — all local-first.

Be clear-eyed about where it is: the author calls it an alpha proof of concept, WHOOP 5.0 only, with known lag and half-finished data pipelines — a build for developers evaluating the idea, not a daily driver yet. If you have an Xcode setup and want to poke at where independent, self-owned health tracking could go, clone it; if you just want a working app today, watch the repo and wait for the public beta.
