The 7 a.m. briefing

One message, every morning, on the app you already check: today's calendar, what actually needs doing, inbox highlights, and the weather — assembled while you slept.

Tools in this workflow

  • OpenClaw
  • Google Calendar
  • Todoist

♻ Loopable — built to run on a schedule (e.g. a daily task)

Goal: start the day with a chief-of-staff summary instead of eight open tabs.

  1. Schedule — a cron job in OpenClaw fires at 6:55 every morning.
  2. Gather — it pulls today’s calendar (with travel time between meetings), your task list ranked by what’s actually due, unread email worth knowing about, and the weather.
  3. Compress — everything lands as one message on your channel of choice: what’s fixed, what’s flexible, the one thing that would make today a win.
  4. Prep on demand — 15 minutes before each meeting it can send the attendee list, the last emails exchanged, and your open commitments to those people.
  5. Reminders that argue back — snooze by replying “after lunch”; it reschedules and follows up. No app, no widget, just chat.

Once it feels reliable, add an evening edition: what happened, what slipped, what tomorrow’s version of you needs to know. Families run a variant of this too — everyone’s calendars merged into one household brief over WhatsApp.
